As a modern musician you need to be able to tell your story! Who are you?
Having a simple foundation of these materials will make a HUGE difference when an application or opportunity comes up.
Every classical musician needs one... a portfolio!
Do YOU have one?
No? Well⊠you should!
Hereâre 4 things you need in a foundational portfolio:
> Elevator Pitch (who you are and what're you known for)
> Resume/CV (your credentials and body of work)
> Website (a way to learn more and engage with you)
> Short/Long Bio (official "about" you)
If you already have a foundation, you can build on that with:
> Audio / Video
> Longer Artist or Teaching Statements
> Press Clippings
A portfolio tells your story, it doesnât just give a factual history about you! There is so much nuance that goes into telling a story with your materials.
Are you ready to get started? If so, we're very excited to help you do just that!
Whether it's your website, resume, cover letter, social media presence, or anything else that shows the world who you are, compiling your portfolio can elicit a major âUGHâ!Â
Maybe creating your website or fixing your CV are year-old items on your to-do list. Or, maybe you've avoided writing about your life and what you believe in because it is a seemingly impossible task.Â
We made this challenge so the next time you make a pitch or a job or grant application pops up, you can cue the calm instead of the coffee and tears! đ§Â > đ âïžÂ
